🎨🦋 An Introduction to Acrylic Painting Workshop
Another wonderful painting workshop is in the books and this time, our canvases came to life with a beautiful butterfly! 🦋✨
We had a fantastic turnout as participants explored acrylic painting techniques, shared creative tips, and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon of art and conversation.
A very special thank you to our guest artist, Leah Sakovich McCall, for sharing her time and talent with us! Leah did an incredible job guiding our artists through the painting, and we are so grateful that she generously donated her time to teach today’s workshop. 💕🎨
Leah is also a regular participating artist at Art in the Park, so we’re especially excited to have her talents continue to be part of the Walter B. Jacobs Nature Center community.
You can check her out here:
Thank you to everyone who joined us today and continues to support our programs! We can’t wait to see what we paint next. 🌿🎨
And an extra special, thank you to our steadfast volunteers who show up every month to help make this program happen! We appreciate you so much!
Please note: This program is for adults and requires pre-registration. See the Events section of our Facebook page for upcoming programs and workshops.

🌿🐍 Toddler Tuesday is always such a fun day! 🐛🐦
Today, our little nature explorers dove into the “tall, tall grass” for a morning full of discovery and fun! 🌾💚
We read In the Tall, Tall Grass by Denise Fleming and then met our slithery friend, Mr. Snake, a Western hognose snake! 🐍 We buzzed like bees 🐝, flapped our wings like crows 🐦⬛, and headed out on a hike through the forest to see what we could find in the tall, tall grass.
And WOW did we find some amazing things! 👀🌿
✨ Birds
✨ Bees
✨ A Worm
✨ Hummingbirds
✨ Caterpillars
✨ Tadpoles that will grow into frogs 🐸
✨ And even a tasty treat along the trail beautyberries! 💜
It was a morning filled with movement, imagination, hands-on learning, and lots of little “WOW!” moments. We love watching our youngest visitors discover the wonders of nature! 🌳💚
🌿 Toddler Tuesday happens the second Tuesday of every month!
Bring your little nature explorer and join us for nature-inspired fun, stories, animals, and outdoor adventures!
